Shellfish

Our team is IANZ accredited for shellfish and crustacean testing and has considerable experience testing a variety of shellfish and other biological materials. Testing is tailored to suit our customers’ needs. 

When it comes to metals, our inorganic chemistry department uses the latest technology to detect and analyse up to 40 metals in shellfish. Metals that can be tested for include aluminium, arsenic, copper, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, lead, potassium, and zinc.  

Testing for microorganisms in shellfish can also be important, we can test for adenovirus, campylobacter, Escherichia coli, enterovirus, faecal coliforms and salmonella testing. 

Organics can also be present in shellfish, contaminants can wash off into waterways affecting shellfish on their way. Common tests we can carry out are organochlorine pesticides (OCP) phenols and more. Get in touch with us to find out our full range of organic testing on shellfish.
