Testing your drinking water from a rain water tank

Rainwater is often used as a drinking water source and is generally suitable for drinking, however, the methods used to collect rain water (house roofs for the majority) often lead to the water becoming contaminated. Contamination can be introduced via faecal matter from animals or birds on the roof and by rotting plant material. For these reasons we always advise our customers to have their tank water tested regularly. We recommend a standard suite of analytical tests to check for potentially harmful microbes and chemicals.
